Didn’t know what to expect from this restaurant but the entrees exceeded everyone’s expectations! Maple ‘mustard rib fell off the bone. New York strip with peppercorn was excellent! So many choices of fish - the whitefish Grenoble was also delicious. Highly recommend this place. Will return! Blacktop. Cheesecake was to die for!!! Waitress was a pleasure too!

The food is delicious and prepared masterfully. The menu selection is ample, and allows each person to find something they enjoy. The atmosphere is pleasant and the restaurant is very comfortable. My main reason for wanting to write a review was the incredible service. Lauren was responsible for our table of 16 people, and I cannot say enough about how wonderful she takes care of her customers. She has a delightful personality, and puts all of her energy and enthusiasm into making guests feel welcome and well attended. At first we were not sure if she is studying acting, but the more we got to know her, the more we realized she is purely authentic, and expresses her vivacious personality in a very genuine and kind way, every single time she speaks to a customer. I asked her to review the amazing desert menu, and she gave what I would describe as the most polished and professional description of every dish, that I have ever heard in my life. She made each dish seem deliciously appealing which left me in awe of how well she knew every detail, and her ability to describe the ingredients and preparation beautifully. Four Roses has a professional desert chef trained in France and it was obvious because their desert menu is truly impressive. What impressed me most, was that during her explanations, there were two dishes that she was not 100% certain of, and she asked me to allow her to check on those and she would get back to me. Once she was done, she disappeared for a moment and then returned and filled me in perfectly on the two items that she had not been sure about. Honestly this was one of the things that impressed me most. She has an amazing attention to detail, and she took it upon herself to make sure my questions were fully answered. I have been on this earth a long time, and travel the world extensively. I have visited 66 countries and eaten at some very fine restaurants. I told her that she is the best waitress I have ever experienced in my life. And I mean that very sincerely. If I ever return to Plainwell, I will revisit the Four Roses Cafe if only to experience her service again. She made the evening a truly wonderful experience. Lauren, you are the best of the best! 5 Stars all the way!

Had a reservation for 9. The dinner menu was amazing! The dinner party ordered the fish, chicken, steak, and I had ribs. The ribs were prepared with a honey mustard glaze, which was absolutely delicious. Zucchini was served as a vegetable with the dinner, and I am not a huge fan of it, but it was great. Their dessert menu selection has a huge variety of deliciousness. Also, out staff, Megan was amazing and attentive to our needs. Although , during the busy dinner, she maintained a professional demeanor.

Amazing food! They have so many different choices!! We went on a Friday night and it was packed. This was my first time here. I am a picky eater. I was able to find plenty on the menu that I loved and wanted to try. The menus change weekly, so it is always new! It was amazing to watch the Chefs pop out so many dishes so quickly. I think our wait time for the food to come out was really good, even though it was a full house. Our food was perfect. My soup was so good. When the Caesar salad came out, I was skeptical.... It didn’t look like a regular Caesar. It was delicious! So creamy and cheesy. The chicken was already beautifully sliced for me! My spouses steak was perfectly cooked he said & he raved about the peppercorn butter sauce. His plate had a creamy squash side that was spectacular. But we forgot to ask which type of squash it was. His plate also had small sweet asparagus. We had to take desert to go. When we tried the cakes they were 5 layers and each very good. Next time, I want the cheesecake. (I saw one at the table next to us!)

This is a great spot - 4.5/5. Really great value for the quality food here. It’s nothing too extravagant or unique in terms of presentation/taste, but it does the basics and gives you just really good food for the right price. They really excel in seafood in my opinion. Their best dish of the ones I tried were the whitefish. Expansive and great desert menu too. The interior is nothing special, but honestly who really cares at this point. It is obviously a local gem!

Fresh, delicious food! Very busy but serve staff was excellent. Food meticulously prepared & arrived hot at table. Cold appetizers were perfectly chilled as was the wine. Could not ask for more!

Our first time and it did not disappoint. Forgot to snap a Pic of our appitizer which was steak skewers. My keylime fizz was delicious and Scott's coconut espresso martini was decadent. Half my braised beef is coming home as the portions are not small. Scott completely enjoyed his flank steak in gorganzola cream sauce. We did not want to miss out on tne dessert so it's coming home with us as well. Peanutbutter pie and coconut candy cheesecake. We think we will ride the bikes over for a drink and a dessert another time this summer as the choices were many and all made in house.

Came here for dinner with my wife yesterday I love the sign, it's adorable! I was slightly confused when I saw that it said "Casual fine dining." But once inside I saw exactly what they meant: It's fine dining without feeling boujee Our waitress was wonderful. She was super outgoing and she knew the menu very well (They don't always!). We started with drinks. I got the Shamrock "Shake" (Case sensitive) and my wife got the Endless Summer. The "Shake" was delicious, it really did taste like an alcoholic shamrock shake! And my wife's endless summer lives up to its name, as it's very refreshing and definitely gives off a summer vibe. Next we got an appetizer. We decided to get the mesquite beef skewer. It comes medium rare, and that's fine because that's the only way high quality beef should. And man was it good! And yes, it actually was medium rare! And the steak itself was nicely seasoned and flavored, yum!! For my entree I got the Whitefish Grenoble. That was darn good! That sauce with the capers is what makes it, but the whitefish itself is cooked well too! My wife got the pork chop. She let me try a bit of it and man, that's a solid pork chop! And lastly, dessert! And don't worry, I knew ahead of time that this place is known for their desserts! I got the Black bottom pie and my wife got the peanut butter pie. Neither of them disappointed, and they're massive! I usually have a pretty big appetite and I had to bring the rest home! Overall an awesome dinner and we'll be back
